Directory tree vs tags

Directory tree vs tags

Organizing my files has almost always being a nightmare bothersome.

There are a trillion of billion of ways of putting them into folders. I doubt if even one of them is ever good enough. In the end either I'll have duplicate files (an update mess) or in some point I wont be able to find something I need.

I decided it all comes down to sorting by "attributes" so why not use tags instead of folders? It seemed such a neat idea that I was sure there would be something ready: a file-system, a kernel-module, a nice-app, ...

Well, there isn't ... or I couldn't find any, so I'm trying something of my own: this is a first version of File-tag program.

Please have a look and comment before it goes live.

I found this sister project similar in functionality:

Apparix seems very nice but it works on directories while I am trying to avoid directories.
I think I'll try it though.
    Thanks!
